Why Doggy Daycare?

Why Doggy Daycare?

Honestly, Dog Daycare works.

Your dog gets to be with people, gets to socialize with other dogs and gets to play. Even older dogs have a need to socialize with their own species and it’s critical for the development of puppies. We can even help the skittish dogs gain confidence through daycare and training, making their lives better in the process.
Of course there are rules in any pack and with our guidance, your dog will quickly figure out what is considered acceptable behavior and what is not, allowing them to truly enjoy the experience.
We do require an on-site evaluation prior to providing any of our services, to determine how your dog will behave during pack play. These evaluations are usually performed on Saturday afternoons and are by appointment only. All dogs must be current on certain vaccinations or have recent Titers to enjoy pack play. You can get more details about what to expect during our evaluations on our evaluations page and find more about our requirements here
The biggest bonus of daycare may be, how much more you enjoy spending time with your dog when they’re not all wound up and frustrated. Frankly there’s nothing quite like a lovable, tired and somewhat groggy doggy. A dog who’s basic needs have been fulfilled is much more relaxed, joyful and is a much better companion.

Isn’t a Big Fenced Yard Enough Exercise?

Not really. Dogs left alone, even in large fenced yards, rarely exercise on their own. Most simply wait by the fence or nap until their people return. Dogs are social, pack animals and need companionship and leadership to truly burn energy in a healthy way.

Without proper outlets, dogs may dig, chew, or create their own ways to release frustration. While that behavior is normal for dogs, it does not fit well with our everyday rules.

Daycare solves this problem by giving dogs what they actually need: people, other dogs, structured play, and guidance. The result is real exercise, mental stimulation, and a happier, more balanced dog.

Meeting Your Dog’s Need for Exercise and Leadership

Many behavior issues in dogs come from excess energy and inconsistent leadership. Destructive chewing, pacing, and constant barking are often signs of boredom and frustration. When these needs are not addressed, small problems can grow into bigger ones.
Dogs need both physical exercise and clear guidance to feel balanced and secure. Daycare at Adventure Dog Ranch provides structured play, leadership, and healthy outlets for energy.
The result is a calmer, happier, and more relaxed dog who is easier to live with and more enjoyable to be around.

A Typical Day at the Ranch

  1. 06:00 AM to 07:30 AM Arrival and check in

Dogs start arriving as early as 06:00 AM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and 07:30 AM on Monday and Friday. Please notify us in advance if you need an early drop off.

  2. 07:30 AM Boarding dogs morning routine

Boarding dogs are let out to relieve themselves, then fed individually. After breakfast, they return to their sleeping quarters to digest and nap.

  3. Upon arrival Daycare dogs enter the play yard

Daycare dogs head into the play yard as they arrive. Overly excited dogs who are not yet familiar with our regulars may spend a few minutes in the introduction yard to relieve themselves and sniff and greet through the fence.

  4. Introductions and building comfort

This helps new dogs become familiar with the scents of the other dogs and our environment. Once they settle, we bring in the most appropriate playmate for a face to face meeting, then slowly add more dogs. Confident dogs may move to the large play yard with the regulars.

  5. 10:15 AM Pack play begins

Around 10:15 AM the boarding dogs join the daycare dogs and the real fun begins. We romp, run, wrestle, chase, and play follow the leader with plenty of supervised social time.

  6. All day Play, breaks, and naps

We play throughout the day, taking breaks and naps as needed. This balance keeps dogs happy, safe, and comfortably tired.

  7. 04:15 PM Dinner and daycare pickup

We begin feeding boarding dogs around 4:15 PM, or earlier in winter due to daylight. Daycare guests start heading home as the afternoon winds down.

  8. 09:30 PM Final potty break and lights out

Boarding guests are let out again at 9:30 PM to relieve themselves, then head right back to sleep because they are happily worn out from the day.
